The UNH Observing Station at Appledore Island is located at the Shoals Marine Lab on Appledore Island (42.97N, 70.62W, sea level) in the Isles of Shoals. This site, although only seasonal due to being uninhabited during the winter months, provides us an unique sampling location off the coast of Maine and New Hampshire. This location, during certain meteorological conditions, allows us to measure air masses that do not cross over northern New England giving us information on pollution sources.
